Mission Statement
The Glendive Police Department as a community based public service, working in partnership with community members, shall strive to ensure the safety of all citizens and their property.

The Glendive Police Department provides 24-hour law enforcement services to the City of Glendive.  These services are accomplished through three distinct Divisions within the Department.  The Administrative division consists of the Chief of Police and Captain.  This division performs a variety of administrative, supervisory and professional work in planning, coordinating and directing the activities of the Police Department.  The Communications Division consists of a Communication’s Supervisor, four (4) fulltime Communication Officers and one (1) part-time Communication Officer.  The Communication Division provides the critical link between the community and response of the public safety agencies within Dawson County.  The Crime Control Division consists of a Sergeant, a Senior Patrolman and 5 patrol officers.  This Division  provides two very important functions within the Police Department. The Patrol function is responsible for answering calls for service from the public, patrolling the streets and enforcing traffic and criminal laws.  The investigation function is responsible for investigating crimes that occur within the city limits of Glendive.
