The City of Glendive has a zoning map that divides the land within the city limits into different zones. One of the reasons for zoned areas within a community is to ensure that land uses are compatible with each other. Zoning areas include: one family residential, one and two family residential, multiple family residential, neighborhood commercial, residential professional, general commercial, central commercial, highway commercial, light industrial, agricultural, agricultural residential, and flood control.
